As we are quickly coming up on closing weekend, Kim and I wanted to take a moment to thank everybody for an amazing season. From all the volunteers to each and every camper who came out enjoyed the property or who participated in the many events. As you know, we close for the season on October 27th, 2024 at 5:00pm. The campground gates will be locked and access restricted to WLCG Contractors and those helping with projects or to close out the campground for the season.
For those of you looking to store your boat or trailer on your site, this is permitted from October 15th until the Saturday of the first weekend in May. It is intended that the boat will be placed so as to not spoil the view for campers still enjoying the campground until closing day. Any boats or trailers (empty or otherwise) left on the property not on a camper site on closing day will be relocated to the area deemed by the campground for winter storage and a maintenance fee of 250.00 may be invoiced to you. There is no guarantee that your trailer will be accessible between October 27th and May 1st.
From an informational perspective, a recent inspection (a separate communication will follow) and an anonymous complaint to, the governing authorities of the campground may potentially put the way we traditionally use the campground "off-season" at risk. As we work to deal with this, we will provide updates as they become available. In the past we have been fortunate to be able to use the property off season – which is not typical for seasonal campgrounds in Ontario. We are hopeful that this practice will be able to continue, but it will definitely require us to define the wording “occasional off season use” before we are able to allow access during the winter.
