This is a group message to seasonal campers at WLCG
Greetings Camper!

Please see below for some important updates:

1) Campground water is for use inside your trailer or to fill watering cans or occasionally water your flowers only. Any other use of the water system is not permitted and will incur a $100.00 usage fee per occurrence.

2) There was over 20 reported complaints of speeding in the park since July 1st. There are many kids and people walking / riding etc. in the campground it is also very dusty. Moving forward, anybody (camper, guest, contractor) who cannot keep to the speed limit will be banished to visitor parking only for the remainder of the season.

a) To add to this, people continue to drive around the speed bumps and on peoples sites – stop doing this. If you want a real time example, go to Ron and Nicky's, we put fibreglass posts there Saturday, both are broken from being driven over between then and Monday morning.

b) The speed limit is currently 10km/h in the campground several of the complaints included requests to lower this to 5km/h for all vehicles (cars/trucks/golf carts) we are reviewing with the owner.

3) During campground inspection today, it was determined that 34 of the trailers have a bad ground. this is determined by placing a volt meter between the frame of the trailer and the ground (dirt) and testing for voltage. Any voltage above 1 (one) volt is considered a poor ground and will cause sensitive people to feel tingling if they step out of the unit in bare feet or touch the trailer when the unit or ground is damp, similar to licking a 9 volt battery. This also skew's your hydro meter reading causing you to pay more.  It's important to understand that this is NOT a park issue, it's the result of poor grounding of the trailers electrical system either by the manufacturer or during installation. An email will be sent to each camper effected that will include instructions on how to fix it and an option for the campground to do it for you (for a fee). From date of notification you will have 1 week to resolve it or the campground will do it (for a fee) for you.

4) Water pressure, in addition to item 1 above, people have been noticing water pressure issues in the park. during our inspection we observed the following that may help you:

a) The campground water pressure is set at 40 pounds maximum, you do not need a pressure reducing valve on the exterior of your trailer (in some cases this was removed if it was restricting pressure) during the testing.

b) Many of you have installed filtration systems – this these systems are great to help clean and filter water but causes resistance in water flow, lowering the pressure. As the filters get full of grit and debris, they reduce flow and pressure more giving the appearance of reduced pressure – we disconnected these systems when testing water pressure at each site.

c) Many trailers have taps in the kitchen, bathroom and shower that are designed to be more efficient while using less water, these easily become blocked with calcium / hard water, debris. the easiest way to clean this is to soak them in CLR and / or use a toothbrush.

d) Remember that even with a filtration system, the water is not considered potable by the campground and remains "use at own risk".

Honestly, we hate sending these types of emails as much as you hate receiving and reading them but looking out for camper safety and adherence to the rules is the reality of the role of management.

Questions? Concerns? comments? Simply reply to this email, give us a call or set up a meeting with us to discuss but please, don't simply complain to your neighbour – we want your feedback, ideas, suggestions.

.
